{January 29, 2010}   Val Emmich taking requests now!

I hope everyone received Val’s newsletter he sent out this morning. Val and I have been brainstorming this. He said he wanted to make the Maxwells show in Feb special, for people who are attending and even for those who can’t. He is taking requests for songs to play. And for those that can’t make it, your vote counts too! He is working on trying to record some songs live. So everyone’s requests counts! Fill out the form here.

Oh yea, and if you are attending come say hi to me. I’m usually the only asian girl at concerts.

I think everyone has heard that Ugly Betty was canceled by ABC. The show introduced me to Val Emmich. But I’ve always been a fan of Ugly Betty since she walked through those doors of Mode. I will miss her and the whole cast. They made my primetime night. Anyway, if you are a fan of UB then you must know Jesse, Betty’s neighbor from last season. She had a huge crush on him. Val Emmich aka Jesse has a show next month, Feb 27th at Hoboken, NJ. Get your tix here. And yes, this clip below are really his own songs and that’s his band playing with him. Go to his show and say hi.

I forgot to mention the new video interviews with Val! Back in October he was interviewed by the IMA’s to be featured in Origivation Magazine. Watch the videos here. And the magazine is also on that page as well. Here’s a picture from the photoshoot.

{January 25, 2010}   Val Emmich Update

I know it’s been awhile! Lots of stuff happening. The Celeb Archive finally added Val into their list of sexy men, all done by yours truly. Just a fair warning that site is not work safe! I am also responsible for having Rocklopedia add Val as well.

If you haven’t visited Val’s official site, he redesigned it and added my fansite as a link in the menu! How awesome is that.

There are a lot of people inquiring if Val is playing at SXSW this year. This is unconfirmed. Val contacted me a few weeks ago in regards to upcoming shows. He didn’t mention playing in SXSW.

Speaking of unconfirmed, Fighting Fish still has an unconfirmed release date. But there is now a Facebook group for the film(which is a good sign). Join now if you have Facebook. Here is a production still from the film.

The Unofficial Val Emmich Merchandise Store is now open.

{November 28, 2009}   New Val Emmich Interview

My good friend, Zura, had the pleasure of interviewing Val recently. They talk about his writing(both songs and fiction), his upcoming controversial film and favorite authors. Here’s an excerpt:

Many may recall him from his various TV appearances in hit shows such as Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, Cashmere Mafia, and Hope and Faith. But each of those shows gave him the limited role of “love interest” of the protagonist, not giving him the opportunity to fully demonstrate his acting range. Fighting Fish, an indie film directed by Annette Apitz that centres around Emmich’s character and that of Anna Moore’s who plays his sister in the film, and their very strange and at times creepily claustrophobic relationship. The challenging new role will be a step up from his usual acting gigs, that will allow the public to take notice of his acting than to merely gaze at his cute rocker intellectual looks, something that his limited roles in the past rendered to.

Zivity is hosting a competition for the first male to ever be featured on their site. Interesting selection. Val Emmich made it on the list. Vote for him here.

Yesterday, the complete season 3 of Ugly Betty was released. Of course, I have it. There are commentaries from the writers of Ugly Betty throughout the “Crush’d” episode. All very interesting and amusing. They mentioned that America’s eyes lit up when she did the audition reading with Val. The writers said that Val came into the set of Crush’d with a crew of PR backing him up. They also raved about Little Daggers and how they are not sick of Get On With It even after listening to the song 40 times taping that roof top party scene. They hear Get On With It everywhere they go now. It was all so adorable. Little fun fact: Val read through the script, and saw that his character Jesse will sing a song to Betty. There was no song planned out, but only a title “Snow Day”. He approached the writers and said he’s a musician and that he can write the song. They gave the nod and “Snowy Day” was written. The performance on the show also gave the Rescue Effort an opportunity to play as Dark Sexual Journey”.
