{April 19, 2010}   New song – Spread the word

And now a few words from Val Emmich about the new record:
“Hey guys. I really appreciate all the kind things everyone is saying about the new songs. Here’s the reality though. In order for this record to see the light of day, I need to spread the word about these new songs. You can really help out by embedding these videos of the new songs on your own pages or just telling your friends via wall post or word of mouth. EST only has 100 plays on Youtube today and Sidekick hasn’t broken 1000 in a week. That’s just sad, I can’t even explain the frown on my face. Let’s get those numbers up. 5,000 at the least. I can’t convince someone to release this record if I can’t show a demand. Forgive the forwardness but If the record is going to come out, that’s what we are looking at. Love you all!!” –VE

{March 30, 2010}   Don’t Let Go, Val Emmich

Val Emmich announced during the holidays that if you sign up for his newsletter, you’ll receive a free song to download from his upcoming album. Fans already signed up receive it too. On New Year’s day he sent the email of “Don’t Let Go”. This is a good reason why you should sign up for band’s newsletters.

He also previewed the song a few months back in his youtube channel.

{January 29, 2010}   Val Emmich taking requests now!

I hope everyone received Val’s newsletter he sent out this morning. Val and I have been brainstorming this. He said he wanted to make the Maxwells show in Feb special, for people who are attending and even for those who can’t. He is taking requests for songs to play. And for those that can’t make it, your vote counts too! He is working on trying to record some songs live. So everyone’s requests counts! Fill out the form here.

Oh yea, and if you are attending come say hi to me. I’m usually the only asian girl at concerts.

{November 28, 2009}   New Val Emmich Interview

My good friend, Zura, had the pleasure of interviewing Val recently. They talk about his writing(both songs and fiction), his upcoming controversial film and favorite authors. Here’s an excerpt:

Many may recall him from his various TV appearances in hit shows such as Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, Cashmere Mafia, and Hope and Faith. But each of those shows gave him the limited role of “love interest” of the protagonist, not giving him the opportunity to fully demonstrate his acting range. Fighting Fish, an indie film directed by Annette Apitz that centres around Emmich’s character and that of Anna Moore’s who plays his sister in the film, and their very strange and at times creepily claustrophobic relationship. The challenging new role will be a step up from his usual acting gigs, that will allow the public to take notice of his acting than to merely gaze at his cute rocker intellectual looks, something that his limited roles in the past rendered to.
