{March 30, 2010}   Don’t Let Go, Val Emmich

Val Emmich announced during the holidays that if you sign up for his newsletter, you’ll receive a free song to download from his upcoming album. Fans already signed up receive it too. On New Year’s day he sent the email of “Don’t Let Go”. This is a good reason why you should sign up for band’s newsletters.

He also previewed the song a few months back in his youtube channel.

I think everyone has heard that Ugly Betty was canceled by ABC. The show introduced me to Val Emmich. But I’ve always been a fan of Ugly Betty since she walked through those doors of Mode. I will miss her and the whole cast. They made my primetime night. Anyway, if you are a fan of UB then you must know Jesse, Betty’s neighbor from last season. She had a huge crush on him. Val Emmich aka Jesse has a show next month, Feb 27th at Hoboken, NJ. Get your tix here. And yes, this clip below are really his own songs and that’s his band playing with him. Go to his show and say hi.

Yesterday, the complete season 3 of Ugly Betty was released. Of course, I have it. There are commentaries from the writers of Ugly Betty throughout the “Crush’d” episode. All very interesting and amusing. They mentioned that America’s eyes lit up when she did the audition reading with Val. The writers said that Val came into the set of Crush’d with a crew of PR backing him up. They also raved about Little Daggers and how they are not sick of Get On With It even after listening to the song 40 times taping that roof top party scene. They hear Get On With It everywhere they go now. It was all so adorable. Little fun fact: Val read through the script, and saw that his character Jesse will sing a song to Betty. There was no song planned out, but only a title “Snow Day”. He approached the writers and said he’s a musician and that he can write the song. They gave the nod and “Snowy Day” was written. The performance on the show also gave the Rescue Effort an opportunity to play as Dark Sexual Journey”.

Michael Urie and Becki Newton of “Ugly Betty” have been spotted filming their part at New York City’s Greenwich Village on Thursday September 3. Their characters, Marc and Amanda respectively, line-up for coffee before sitting down for a chat.
